Tuesday: I arrived in Washington around noon. We had just enough time to make a quick mall run and change before heading to the Seattle temple for Kiersten to take out her endowments.
Wednesday: Grandma and Grandpa Burkhardt arrived in town. The girls in the family headed to the salon to get manicures and pedicures. (Well, the bride got both. The rest of us chose one or the other.)

We also got to string hundreds of lights to decorate the dance hall.Thursday: Everyone else arrived! We had to shop for some final items for the wedding then went straight to a bridal shower/bachelorette party for Kiersten while the guys ate pizza and rode go-carts for the bachelor party. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, the hosts wore festive dresses. They outfitted the bride too! We had a taco bar and ice cream sundaes. Kiersten got some fabulous shower gifts!
Friday: The day of the actual wedding. Since we had 11 people sharing 3 bathrooms, we were grateful for the 2:00 wedding ceremony! Everyone got all dolled up and headed to the temple for the actual wedding ceremony. The bride was absolutely gorgeous! The groom looked pretty good too. haha They got lucky and were able to get many pictures outside because the rain mostly held off. It was pretty chilly, though, so the rest of us rushed to get home.
The wedding conveniently coincided with Grandpa Burkhardt's birthday. After the wedding we headed to Marie Callenders for a birthday dinner.
The evening ended with dessert, and some cake practice, at David's parents' house. The poor bride and groom had a rather late night!
Saturday: This was the day of the reception. We spend the morning making the centerpieces for the tables. They were pretty fabulous if I do say so myself!
The big dinner was from 4-6 at Copper Falls restaurant. We held a ring ceremony for the people who could not attend the temple. Dinner was a choice of fettuccine alfredo, penne pasta with marinara sauce, or chicken marsala, Caesar salad, and rolls. Of course cake was served for dessert!
The dinner started a little late and therefor ended a little late. The dance portion of the evening was set to start at 7 at Pacific Ballroom across town. Many people ran off to get the decorations and food going at the dance while others stayed to clean up the restaurant. It was a cleaning frenzy! It turns out that my mother was holding onto David's keys and accidentally took them with her. They were the last to leave so they were unfortunately 45 minutes late. Everyone was very congenial about waiting, and they just danced and ate during that time. We ended up with a ton of leftover food, but everyone enjoyed themselves! After cleaning up, most of the rest of us ended up staying up super late just enjoying the last of the weekend and each others company. Sunday was fairly relaxing with sleeping in and packing, then off to the airport we went! Most of us were on the same flight home, so the 7 of us headed out of Seattle and back to Salt Lake to record breaking cold and rain. Welcome home!
