Thank You For Making Our World a Safer Place

The weekend before Thanksgiving Mike and I discovered our credit card number had been stolen. We had the joys of canceling the card and all deposits being made from it, as well as waiting for new cards to be issued. This week I received a letter from City Sights, the tour bus we took through New York City when we went over Spring Break in 2009. This is the gist of the letter (in my own words of course):

Dear Sir or Madam,

We discovered that, back in October, a computer hacker hacked into our system and stole your information, including your credit card information. We have now strengthened our system so this doesn't happen to others like you. In return, we are sending you a coupon for 50% off your next tour with us. Again, we are so sorry.

Someone stole my identity from your computer database and went and bought a thousand dollar computer and donated hundreds of dollars to save the dolphins and, for inconveniencing me, you are offering me half off an effing tour through Harlem where I can be robbed at gunpoint and have my identity stolen again???

Well, if anyone out there is planning on touring NYC in the future, I have a coupon. Just don't use your credit card to pay for the other half of the admission price.

I am so sorry! Fraud credit card transactions are such a pain in the ASS! I hope you get everything back, even though it takes a while.
