H. told this joke to everyone he possible could on Friday. I think I heard it about 15 times. He already wanders the room, but Friday he wandered just so he could tell this joke. And of course he had to explain it to everyone, whether they got it or not. I think he was just proud that he got it. That's one of the things that is funny about 2nd graders. They are just getting into the stage of development where abstract concepts like jokes, metaphors and similes start to make sense to them. And then I get to hear it a hundred times a day. And of course I laugh every time. "That's a good one!" (huge fake smile)

That is a good one! :O) I guess the first time... It's fun to see kids grow into our language and culture.
We just had a detailed class discussion about "Why didn't the skeleton cross the road? Because he didn't have the guts."
