Two of my students came up to me on Friday morning all excited for this present they got me. One handed me two flowers she had picked out of a yard on her way to school and the other gave me 2 movie tickets to see The Last Song. All day long she kept talking about this movie in ways like "I hope you like Miley Cyrus" and "Are you excited to see the movie?" I just didn't have the heart to tell my new student of 4 days that her "movie tickets" were really ticket stubs from a movie viewed four days previously!

Bless her little heart. I have received many of those kinds of gifts that get retired as soon as I "take them home to show Mr. Duke". I love that they try so hard. It's sweet. I'm sure you were disappointed, since I KNOW how much you love Miley Cyrus! :)
And that is why we teach 2nd grade! Who else would be so thoughtful and clueless at the same time!!
