Day 236: Saturday, July 4

Holidays have been a pretty quiet affair at my house recently. I just can't seem to get Mike to want to go anywhere! (See the New Year's Eve experience for further details.) I finally convinced him to take me out to dinner. We jumped into the car and started driving to some of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, by the time I convinced him to take me out to eat, it was late and everything was closed for the holiday. We tried some of our moderately favorite restaurants, hoping that by chance something would be open. Still no luck there. "Ooh, KFC is open!" "Oh wait, there is a line literally 10 cars long in the drive through and a line going out the door." Whelp, I guess we had better head to Mike's favorite eating establishment in the entire world:


Yes, my 4th of July was spent eating at Burger King. We watched a few of the Stadium of Fire fireworks from our front door and then, excitedly, went to bed. Happy Independence Day!
