Day 80: Friday, January 30 - Our Wonderful Mail Delivery System

After eating breakfast this morning, something must have clicked in my body. My throat feels much better and I have more energy! It must be a rare strain of strep after all. I am still grateful I took the day off so I don't have another one like yesterday. I also found out that my sister Kiersten was diagnosed with mono this morning! What are the odds? I must have sent her my possible diagnosis by osmosis through text messages or something. I am just glad we both don't have mono.

Since I was feeling a little better, but mostly because it it payday and therefore bill day, I went to get the mail. Since we refinanced in December, I needed to find out where to send my mortgage payment. When I arrived at the mailbox, there was a note from the mail carrier saying that due to the fullness of my mailbox, all my mail was taken to the post office and would need to be picked up there. If it wasn't picked up within 10 days all my mail would be returned due to non pickup. Now, I hate getting the mail, so I don't get it all that often. I just didn't realize it had been that long since I emptied my mailbox! I needed to get the bill paid immediately, so I took my pajama-clad self to the post office. (Which is something I refuse to do in public, but I didn't have the energy to get dressed.) I still didn't expect the pile the postman handed to me.

I was also annoyed by the accompanying lecture about picking up my mail regularly blah blah blah. I just want my mail, not a lecture. Doesn't he realize I already got all this based upon the note in my mailbox and the fact that I had to drive to the post office to pick up my freaking mail!

Now I had to sort through the pile. This is the reason I hate getting the mail. You got the to be filed pile, the tax info pile, the rebate/check pile, the neighbor's pile, the do something with it now pile, the garbage pile, and the magazine pile.

And the garbage pile? Oh yes, it was a pile to be proud of. Too bad the HOA found it too expensive to get a recycling bin.
With the many pieces of fascinating mail we recieved, this check was my favorite of all. Thanks, Provident, for refinancing our mortgage and promptly selling it off. I am glad you deemed us worthy of that hefty rebate!

Ugh, I hate getting the mail......... too many papers and piles. That pile is pretty good, though. I think that's more mail than we had after being gone for two weeks. How long had it been?!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better!
