Day 51: Thursday, January 1 - Shopping Cures Anything

I think Mike was trying to get into my good graces after yesterday's New Year's fiasco of an evening: he found me a shower curtain to redecorate my master bathroom. I believe Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of a Shopaholic was right when she said that shopping cures anything. I am no longer mad at him. Presents definitely work.

We "went green" several months ago and use vinegar and water as our household cleaner. Unfortunately, our shower curtain still reflected the lovely bleach spots from our old cleanser. Hence the new curtain. We had decided awhile ago to go with a girly theme, as our other bathroom is very masculine. (That one is Mike's bathroom, this one is mine. We don't share well.) Mike found one he actually liked! Here is my cute new girly bathroom.

I love my shoe rug. Well, I just love shoes period!

This picture with the glare is a bugger to get out! It has these giant staples in the back holding the cardboard. Tomorrow I will have to tackle that project.

Movie of the Day: Wall-E - Mike and I loved this movie! It was very entertaining the entire way through. We laughed numerous times. I loved the fact that there was barely any talking and we still understood the storyline. Ingenious.

Cute new bathroom! And I'm sorry that Mike was a party pooper. :( Especially since you took the time to make your hair cute! I would have been bummed, too. We've gone green with our cleaning too, and we use this stuff called Advanage cleaner (you can buy the bottle of the concentrate for like $40, but then it makes like 20 bottles of cleaner once diluted with water). I like it because it smells better than vinegar, and it can be used on just about everything... windows, cars, laundry, floors, showers, carpet, etc. And it works really well, too! I'd been killing myself trying to get the hard water stains off of our glass shower door, but they did it! Anyway, just a suggestion in case you ever wanted to branch out from the vinegar, but if it's working for you, then that's great! Happy New Year! Hope you enjoy your last weekend of Christmas break!

Your new bathroom is very cute. I had noticed that Mike's bathroom was quite masculine and forgot to comment on it. I am glad you got to go feminine in yours!!

Love,
