I am a Twilight addict.
I will be the first one to admit it.
I just can’t get a firm reading on the movie.
I am opinionless on whether I liked it or not, but it had its good moments.
As Rotten Tomatoes says, it “lost much of its bite transitioning to the big screen.”
Its fan base will carry it through, however.
My review, on the other hand, does not bode well for the low budgetness of the movie.
The first redeeming quality is that is has many phrases straight from the book. Robert Pattinson has his moments.
I will give him that.
Nevertheless, he is mostly stiff and has creepy eyeisms.
His pasty skin and red chapped lips aside, the kiss in the bedroom scene was kind of hot. James, on the other hand, was freaking hot and would have made a much better Edward!
Kristen Stewart left much to be desired.
She mostly mumbles throughout the movie. She needed more sass for me. Monkeyman (as Rosalie calls him) Emmett was fun and Alice was great, but Jasper was pinch faced the entire movie and Rosalie was not my favorite.
Carlisle would have been better without so much white makeup and I loved Elizabeth Reaser as Esme.
Jacob was pretty cute; he just had on a bad wig.
Charlie was the most redeeming quality of the movie.
He was the epitome of what Charlie should look like and how he should act.
I just can’t get over the whole tree climbing, monkey thing. And as for Stephenie Meyer making a cameo on her own movie? Really people - she’s no Hitchcock. The skin sparkle scene made us laugh out loud, the clothes were too emo, and the prom scene’s lack of couture would have made the book Alice cringe. All things aside, Janette and I had a fun night.
You may disagree with me – say what you will. I might like it better when I watch it when it comes out on video. I just firmly believe it should never have been made into a movie in the first place. How can you compete with perfection?

There were these girls sitting on the bench under the Twilight poster. We had to ask them to take the picture in order to stand there. They don't really know how to use a camera, but at least they helped us out!

Here, Here! I came home and just laughed while I told Alex all about it. Hopefully, they will have a better budget for the sequels.
I hear they are hoping to make enough money from this movie to have a bigger budget for the second movie. *sigh That's just not the way to do it.
