Monday: I had to take the day off to go to my yearly doctor's
appointment. But that was not the highlight of my day. The highlight
was sleeping in and going to Hobby Lobby. I rushed out of Hobby Lobby
on Saturday night to make it to the movies with Kiersten and David. (One
For the Money -not bad, pretty funny, not as funny as the book.) When I
got home at 9:20 I discovered, after the store had already closed for
the night, that one of my bags was missing. I had to wait all the way
until opening Monday morning to find out if I left it in the store.
Thankfully I had! And I may or may not have bought some more stuff...
Anyway, this is why I was there:
 |
| I wanted to decorate above the bookshelf in my bedroom. Now if the candles would just go on sale again so I can get the darling black and white candles I was eyeing... They would be perfect for that candle holder and bring the black and white into the whole rule of thirds and odd numbers being more pleasing and all that jazz. |
Tuesday Through Thursday: I was fighting off a cold. And when I say fighting it off I really mean it. It wasn't full blown and my immune system was on overdrive to make it not become the cold of the century. I went to the HOA dinner meeting at the Art City Trolley (remember, where I brought my own dressing? and got to take home yummy dessert) and forgot to take pictures. In fact, these two days I discovered my SD card was still in my computer and the cold-addled brain of my mine kept forgetting to stick it back into my camera. But Zane was cute. I love his squishy face.
Friday: I went to the hardest, most challenging new weight lifting class today. Awesome!
It was also date night.
Our exciting date consisted of a trip to the library and comic book store as well as Toys R Us and Petsmart. In between these stops we would go into a restaurant to put our name in for dinner. Every place had a 60-80 minute wait. That's what you get when you live
in near a double college town. We got so frustrated after the last restaurant that we decided to just head home and eat a sandwich. It was 7:30 and we were both hungry and cranky. As we were driving home I remembered my favorite local restaurant and we went there. Empty and delicious - just the way Mike likes it.
 |
| He especially loved the cinnamon roll for dessert. |
 |
| Zoe and Zane got a new dog bed - one of the big reasons for the errand date night. |
Saturday: We teachers had to spend all day at science class again. The highlight of these trainings in the lunch they provide. (The minestrone from Olive Garden is delicious by the way.) Because other than that there is a whole lot of sitting and discussing science stuff.
 |
| Thankfully Words with Friends and Facebook helped to pass the time. |
The teacher had these wiggle cushions for her ADHD/CAN'T SIT STILL kids. We took pleasure out of sitting on them ourselves, especially since I am one of those "can't sit still for long periods of time" people.
 |
| Here is Natalie sitting on the cushion. It was hard getting a good picture. After lunch we were doing ab exercises and leg lifts. It was pretty
funny. And we may not have been listening as well as we should have.
But hey, we didn't have homework this time. |
For this next week: I am feeling better, the SD card is in the camera, by Wednesday the student teacher is teaching everything but math and I have a hair appointment. Bring it on! And now I leave you with a darling persuasive essay written by H in my class. We spent all of second term doing persuasive writing (remember the OREO) and are now onto nonfiction writing. H decided she wanted to go back to persuasive writing after her how-to paper was done. This essay followed the format perfectly: opinion, 3 reasons all followed by examples, and ending with her opinion once again. Enjoy!
Dear Mrs. B,
I think you are the best teacher
ever! I will give you a few reasons to convince you that you are the best teacher.
Reason #1 You are nice to me! Like in the middle of school you thank me for sitting up straight and tall. Reason #2 you give our class hints for tests. like for our fractions test and other tests like that! Reason #3 You give us class partys if we get 50 points and privilge cards. Mrs. B I think you are the best teacher ever!
From: H
Not only was it darling, but it had incredible spelling!
