Dy 95 - October 3, 2011

I took the morning off to take Mike to have his stent removed at 9 am.  There is just one problem with doctors - they never do what they say they are going to do.  We went down to the hospital to have the x ray taken to ensure there was no infection.  They then told us that the doctor couldn't even read the x ray until after noon, after his two surgeries that morning.  So I wrote some afternoon sub plans for my new afternoon sub and bid my time until 1:45.  When 1:45 rolled around, the doctor's office called again and told us to head down to his office at 4:00.  I had a school meeting at 4, one I was getting paid for.  Suck.  But I wanted to be there for Mike, so what else was I to do?

The nurse came into the room, grabbed Mike, and prepped him for the procedure.  The doctor showed up and pulled out that stent.  It took all of five minutes.  Especially since they used no anesthesia or numbing medicine.  Mike said it was extremely painful. Like pretty high on the pain tolerance scale  I am sure you can imagine.

This was the stent that was pulled out of Mike's body. The one that was taken out without any pain medication.
