Day 116 - October 24, 2011
Dogs really are like children. I see it more and more each day. For example, I gave the dogs a rawhide bone today to clean out their teeth and, let's be honest, keep them busy and out of my hair. Zane wouldn't accept one but Zoe went to town on hers. A little while later Zoe headed out into the backyard for one of her frequent bathroom breaks, leaving the remainder of the chewie on the floor. Zane promptly waltzed over, grabbed it, and carried it off in his mouth. He then proceeded to sit down with it. No, not to eat it. Just to hold onto it. He would not let go of it. When Zoe came back in, he ran away with it every time she came near. Truly, he never chewed on the thing. He only held it. Maybe it was out of spite. He just didn't want her to have it.

What a tease, I'm surprised Zoe let him get away with that. But the smart choice is to ignore him until he just gets tired of teasing and puts it down. You know act like you don't want it and then he won't want it any more. Of course these are dogs do they have that much mental capacity. To understand this?
