Day 16 - July 16, 2011

After breakfast my immediate family planned on walking around the house for a little exercise. Our walk turned out a little larger than planned! But that is what reunions are all about: being with family.

While we were all heading up the mountain, we saw all these rafts floating down the river. Every single car arrived and commented on how much we wanted to go white water rafting. So we made it happen! There were 16 of us that ended up going.

Some wanted to take the normal route while others wanted to ride the hard core rapids that our guide told us scared even him.

They had to wear helmets and there was a high possibility they would fall out. Unfortunately, about 20 minutes into our journey the sky clouded over and the sun disappeared. It even sprinkled on us several times. But, since we were already soaked, even I, Miss "Melt in the Rain" had no problem with it. We also had a really warm wind blowing. It made for a comfortable ride. The other group wasn't so lucky, with water 15 degrees colder than ours and a cold wind.

We all had a blast, even those of us that went on the more tame ride.

It was absolutely freezing getting out of the wet suit jackets (which I was REALLY grateful I chose to wear)! We warmed up and went to our family luau.

What kind of reunion would it be without a giant family picture?

And ending the night with a pinata and a rousing game of Name that Tune, the TV show version?
