Harry Potter came out today at midnight. I absolutely love Harry Potter. But I am not one of those people who attend midnight showings. I feel that movies aren't worth staying up past my bedtime. But it is worth attending an early premiere at 8:30! My new third grade team and I attended together, as sort of a nonschool related team building activity. (Or just an excuse to hang out and watch Harry Potter.) The theater was rented out by Wingers, Home Depot, and an heat and air company. Amber got us tickets through a friend that worked at Wingers. Yay for companies that sent out theaters early!
We arrived at 7 at the theater amidst the throngs of movie goers waiting in line to watch the midnight movie. And we just walked right by and headed to our seats. The best part was walking out of the movie, waving at everyone in line as we headed home to bed and they still had over an hour left in line.
What a fantastic movie! From what I remember about the book, it really followed the story line well. The girl in front of me kept crying at the sad moments and shaking her fist at the screen. I guess she got mad at herself for crying cause she would then slap her head and laugh.
When it was over we went back to the lobby to take a picture to commemorate. we wanted to make it truly special so we got this Hagrid guy on stilts to pose with us. Braving the crowds was definitely worth the experience. Thanks Amber for getting Natalie and I tickets!
P.S.: I am writing this from My cell phone in the middle of nowhere in Idaho on my way to a family reunion. Isn't technology great?!
P.S.2: That's why the picture looks so bad. I will fix it when I get to a computer with internet access.
