-Monday: Work day. I had to work while everyone stayed home! That seriously sucked. I made these cute turkeys with my class. It was quite the adventure and took much patience. (Just imagine 6 seven-year-olds following you around wherever you go while you are trying to figure out the best way to make this work. Get the picture?) At least now I know what to do for next year.
-Tuesday: Movie day. Today the media hyped up this huge "snowstorm of the decade." Get home early, stay inside, stock up on firewood and food, etc. When we went to the local movie theater (you know, the crappy one we only go to as a last resort? like a crazy storm?), it was crazy windy and snowing. When we came out of Harry Potter (excellent!), it was done. Only a scraping of snow on the cars. It was kinda disappointing. Okay fine, really disappointing.
-Wednesday: Cooking day! Kiersten and I brined the turkey and made this gorgeous lattice apple pie.
-Thursday: Thanksgiving! The turkey took a little longer than I thought it would. But seriously, it was worth it! Best. Turkey. Ever. I cooked it upside down for the first few hours, then flipped it to brown for the last hour. I might have discovered this by accident (and gotten a little more stressed), but will do it again. That, combined with the brining, made it the most moist, succulent turkey we have ever eaten. Grandma joined Mike, Kiersten, David and me. We had a fabulous spread of food adding frog eye salad, mashed potatoes, stuffing, candied carrots, a relish tray, and pumpkin pie to the menu.
Oh geez Mike. After dinner, we tried to watch a movie, but it didn't quite go as planned. It looked like this instead...
The ads took front and center. Good luck finding a seat!
-Friday: Black Friday. Enough said. I think Kiersten and I got much of our Christmas shopping done. It was wonderful not to leave until 8.
-Saturday: Christmas decorating! The tree is up, the decorations are done, and amazing Thai food from Thai Drift finished off the evening for me. Christmas movies here
-Sunday: I hate goodbyes. Back to Idaho she goes.

It sounds like you had so much fun! I missed being there. I know I could have been there too, but I did have a fabulous time as well. I have to figure out how to be in two places at one time.
