Back to School...

As it is my last day of summer (sigh), I had better sum the past couple of days. Can you believe it's over???

1. On Friday I put in a load of laundry before I got in the shower. Several hours later I went to put it in the dryer and found a washer still full of water. I tried everything I could possible think of to get it working again, but no luck. So, I spent the next little while scooping water out of my washer and washing my wet load in my neighbor's washer, all the while trying to decide if I was going to get a repairman to look at it or just buy a new high efficiency washer. Mike took a look at it the next day. We unplugged the hoses, cleaned it out, etc, and when we started it again, it still wouldn't agitate. We stood in front of the washer discussing out options, made a decision, and Mike slapped the dryer in affirmation. Lo and behold, the washer started agitating! I guess I was closing the lid too softly so the sensors didn't recognize the lid was closed. Sheesh.

2. Mike got hit by a city worker. He veered into Mike's lane while driving. We are now waiting to have our bumper fixed by the city.

3. Two days after that incident, I discovered that Mike's Camry had a broken headlight along with a large black streak down the front of the hood. I guess a large tire flew out from a truck in front of Mike while he was driving. He thought it had gone under the car, but lucky for us it did some damage instead!

4. I spent my last day shopping for new pants. My old ones no longer fit. I just love Express and their pants!!! You can get great deals when you watch for their coupons.

And now I am going to spend the rest of my evening doing nothing! Well, as little as my body will let me, cause I am kind of a busy body and don't really like sitting still. I gotta play up my last day as a free woman! But really, I am excited for some of the changes I am making to my classroom and I love how my job allows me to start over fresh each and every year. No matter what the past year brought, this year will bring something new. Bring it on!

It's been nice having Jess home for the summer but he is excited to go back as well. But I have a feeling that like Jess you didn't completely stop working through the summer ;)
