Instead we spent the day at the beach. I made many phone calls, but all the schools were empty so I just sent out a bunch of emails. We will see. So interviews scheduled: 0.
We actually went to view the beach for ourselves. Kerri, this for you!!!

Navarre Beach (pictured above) has no oil on the sand whatsoever. We still have gorgeous, white sandy beaches. There is just a LOT of seaweed.
Pensacola Beach does have oil. However, there has been a lot of clean up and it is still swim-able. Here you can see the tar balls on the sand, but it's definitely not as bad as the picture I posted the other day.

In some areas, you can see the tar balls floating in patches near the shore.

The clean up crews and bulldozers are out in full force.
This picture really shows the difference in the beaches now. The sand is normally completely white all the way to the water. The oil mixed with the sand to create the golden color. That is where the oil has been cleaned up. But as you can see there is still plenty of white sand left! And it is definitely swim worthy. However, it is still sad to see.
