I don't know if you consider an emergency trip to the doctor an enjoyable Friday night date, but I myself would not make it my first choice. After the last weeks episode of the "ear hurting in the middle of the night," I discovered that is wasn't my ear after all, but my jaw. I learned this because the pain started while awake. It was so extremely painful, and no amount of pain medication would dull the pain. Once it calmed down, the pain was consistent at a more minor level. I dealt with the constant ache until Friday night, when it became unbearable once again. No amount of ice or heat would do anything, either. So at about 9:00 Friday night, I was getting a shot in my butt for the pain and a muscle relaxer to help my jaw calm down. The nurse practitioner said I should also book an appointment with my dentist "just in case." So I was on medication that made me drowsy all weekend in addition to 800 milligram ibuprofen.
But all date night was not lost. We finally got to celebrate Valentine's Day. We went to Red Lobster for dinner and I truly enjoyed it, even through the pain meds. Mike got me a gift certificate to get a massage (after the hints and texting him the phone number) and another to get a movie at FYE. Thanks babe!
An eventful weekend? Probably. The muscle relaxers made me so drowsy I couldn't even stay awake during all of church. I slept through most of sacrament meeting so we went home where I could sleep laying down instead of sitting up. And first thing Monday morning I booked an appointment with the dentist.
