Sick Days and Bomb Threats

On Tuesday I felt like I was getting sick. My throat hurt and I got this hacking cough that made my throat even worse. I decided to stay home on Wednesday to get better, so I found myself a sub and created the dreaded sub plans. During the night I woke with a searing pain in my ear. It was so bad that I hobbled out of bed and grabbed the bottle of Advil. Doctor's appointment time. Thank goodness I already had a sub! The doctor didn't really say much. He cleaned the giant ball of earwax that was in my ear (and that ear only), and mentioned that it was a little red. Turning my head during sleep probably made it shift during the night and cause the pain.

Meanwhile back at the airport, a Denver plane was forced to land at our SLC airport due to a bomb threat that was written on a napkin and placed on the beverage cart. Since Mike also heads UPS security at the airport, he was called to keep the sharks (aka the media) away from the site.
He was pretty excited because he got to yell at one of the reporters from the news that he particularly doesn't like. The FBI showed up, there was some handcuffing, and people were stuck on the tarmac for around 4 hours. According to the news, we don't have any more information at this time and don't even know if any arrests were made. haha

This morning when I went downstairs to feed the dogs I found Mike asleep on the couch. (He is usually at work when I wake up.) He gets to have a sick day too! But for the record, it isn't what I have! I did not give it to him. It was rather cold and wet during his outdoor security jaunt yesterday, so that's probably what happened. I personally feel worse today and Mike is home sick - so much for our Valentine's Day celebrations today!
