After living in a gray fog for the past few weeks the sight of the blue skies yesterday just about set me dancing in my car! Utah, being rated the worst in the country for bad air, was pretty darn excited to blow that inversion out of happy valley. I felt like Gooney Bird Greene when I wanted to "hug and kiss and do the tango."* Now the snow is falling and the inversion is sure to be gone for a few more days at least, so hopefully my allergies will calm down before the next batch hits.
*Gooney Bird Greene, written by Lois Lowery, is one of my favorite 2nd grade books. Gooney Bird, a story teller, ends all her stories with hugging, kissing, and some sort of dancing. The kids in this book just act so classically "second grade" that if you want to know what my daily work life is like, read this. It's hillarious!

I'll have to get this book. We are sharing childrens literature in bookclub this month. Anymore favorites?
Oh so many more favorites! Fablehaven, My Father's Dragon, The Tale of Desperaux, The Witches, Fancy Nancy...I could go on and on if you want me to!
Isn't the inversion horrible? Blue skies make winter bearable.
