As this decade closes I am reminded of the last memorable end of the decade. A friend recently asked me, "Where were you for Y2K?" In 1999, I was a senior in high school looking to graduate in the Class of 2000 and get into BYU. (Thankfully, both of those things happened. I found out in January that I was accepted to the college of my choice and I graduated in June on Father's Day.) I believe I was at a church New Year's Eve dance, but I could be wrong. (Much of high school has been relegated to the back of my brain - those are years I don't really want to relive.)
I made a time capsule in middle school for the "25-year-old me" where I wrote about what I wanted to see from myself at 25. When I opened it, my life was similar, but not what I wanted it to be at 15. This new decade reminds me of that time capsule. It reminds me of just how much life can and will change in ways you may least expect. So here is my ode to the decade of the 2000's. (If you want more, watch I Love the New Millennium on VH1. Hilarious.)

You are hilarious! You are so sweet! I am so glad you have this blog for everyone to read! I really enjoy it! I wish I had a time capsule to reflect on! You are moving to the South? And I secretly like 98 degrees too (but sshh, don't tell anyone! LOL)
Coconut? Do you mean the flavor? The nut? The smell? I'm very intrigued by this.
Coconut as in the flavor - I used to hate it! And yes, Sarah, we are planning on moving to the south in June.
What a fun reflection post. I opened a 10 year time capsule a few years ago as well and had similar feelings. It was amazing what had and hadn't happened and what was or wasn't important to me then and now.
You guys are going to love the south, I'm sure. We love it!
This is a really cute way to reflect and to take stock of where you are. Hold onto it so you can see where you are in another ten years! I will admit, I am proud to be your momma!
