Beef Stuffed French Bread
1 unsliced loaf of French Bread (1 pound)
1 pound ground beef
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cheddar cheese soup
1 med green pepper, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4 slices Swiss cheese
Directions: Cut off the top of the bread. Carefully hollow out the bottom of the loaf, leaving a 1/2 inch shell. Cut removed bread into small cubes and set aside. In a skillet, brown beef and drain. Add soup, green pepper, celery, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir 3-4 minutes. Stir in the reserved bread cubes. Spread into bread shell. Top with cheese. Replace bread top. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until cheese is melted. Makes 6 servings.
The verdict: Definitely good! It took me a minute to figure out how to eat it, but decided to cut the bread and eat it like sandwiches. It is best when warm.
Also, at hip hop we are learning the actual dance to Michael Jackson's Thriller. Our principal, who is in the class with us, wants us to perform it for the school. Last year three of us did two quick dances from Mamma Mia for the school, so I guess she wanted to follow suit this year. Kerri, Laura and I have complete reservations about this. In fact, we don't want to do it at all, and she won't listen to us! For me, it's not the performing in front of the school that is the problem. I don't mind that at all. It's that fact that we will finish the dance next Tuesday night, Wednesday night is spent entirely at Parent Teacher conferences, and the performance is on Thursday morning, because we don't have school on Friday because of said Parent Teacher conferences. When do we have time to practice? Yeah, we don't. We will have to perform a brand new dance two days after learning it, with no additional time to practice. So I think you know why we have some reservations about this.
