1. I always get nervous the night before the first day. I feel like I am completely unprepared, when in reality I am just fine.
2. I forget how much my voice hurts after talking so much.
3. I have to retrain my feet to be able to stand in heels all day.
4. I have to retrain my bladder to "hold it" for a more convenient time.
5. Getting used to a mere half hour of lunch takes time.
6. As does making a lunch.
7. I love watching their feet swing under their desk because they just can't sit still. (By January they can all touch the floor, showing how much they grow.)
8. I love all the hugs from last year's kids, but it saddens me to realize that I will no longer be their favorite teacher.
9. I have 20 new names to remember.
10. I forget just how many things I have to teach that, after the previous year of teaching, I just assume they know.
But well, as I have seen on several other blogs: 1 down, 179 to go. And the kids in this picture will grow with each day.

Awww you just made me miss teaching so much!! It is a lot of work, but it is so fun to watch those kids learn and grow each day. It's crazy. I wish I could go back and get hugs from all my old students! :) Maybe I'll go back to the Halloween parade or something. Do you only have 19 kids? If so, that's great! I hope you have a great experience this year!
