Getting on a 7 am flight requires a definite loss of sleep. In fact, Mike and I fell asleep in the middle of Monsters vs. Aliens. After we arrivied in Atlanta, we barely had time to ride the tram to the new concourse, grab some food, and jump onto the tiny plane that would take us to Pensacola. We even had to eat our Wendy's on the plane - that's how little time there was. And we were still the last to board! Coincidentally (or not), our flight arrived just before my family's, so we met up at the airport to get our rental car. There was this cool pelican at the entrance of the tiny airport.

After unloading and unpacking, we went to Pensacola Beach where we ate at a restaurant called Crabs. (We as in my parents, my sisters Kiersten and Kendall, my uncle Mark, My cousin Burke, his wife Shelly, and their kids Aidan and Ellie.) Mike and I shared a seafood platter with King Crab, Snow crab, Dungeness crab, shrimp, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and honey butter biscuits. We had so much crab we didn't even touch the Dungeness crab you see here in the picture.

played in the water and sand, and watched the sunset.

This is the view from our bedroom window at my aunt and uncle's house in Gulf Breeze. If you look closely, you can see the sliver of the beach in between the two houses in the background.

Crabs was right on the beach so after we ate we walked to the shore,
Kiersten and I.
The gorgeous white beach sand. (That gets EVERYWHERE!)
Ellie, Kendall, and Aidan.
Then we went for a late night swim to tire us out before bed.

I'm glad you got to get away for a little trip before school starts up again! I miss the beach. I need to go to the beach and remember how much I hate bringing sand home in everything! :)
Looks like so much fun and that's only the first day!
