Day 242: Friday, July 10

The bushes in front of our house recently died - for no apparent reason. They weren't the prettiest sight, and we were tired of looking like the white trash neighbors.

We ripped those suckers out in about 5-10 minutes. No problem. However, we ran into a problem when we tried to dig the holes to plant the new bushes. Six inches down, there was no soil - it was all clay and rocks. I have no clue how the landscapers planted the original bushes in the first place. The dirt was so hard that Mike had to use the hammer to even come close to digging a hole.
But in the end, it was worth it. Here are our new bushes in their beautiful new home with their bark covering.
