Mike and I went to Ikea today and spent way too much money. I love that store and could have spent so much more! We wanted a couple of items, and came home with a couple different items than planned. We did want a new shelving unit for our books. I didn't want a traditional bookshelf and this was exactly what I had in mind. There is so much room that I still have empty spaces after putting two entire bookshelves worth of books on it. I need to get some more non-book items to put on it and get rid of some of the old stuff. Ikea has these cool baskets that fit perfectly in each space as well as cupboard fronts for select boxes. I should get me some of them.
Zoe didn't really like being a decoration, but she sat there like a champ and posed for the picture.
We also bought new, badly needed end tables. The best part was that they were only $12! We also splurged for new adjustable lamps. Our bed is so high that we need adjustable lamps. This one hasn't even been raised yet.
After several hours of backbreaking labor (just kidding about the backbreaking part) we finally had everything put together. Now we just have to finish cleaning the entire mess up...
