Day 172: Friday, May 1 - Just Keep Swimming
My mom flew into town yesterday for my graduation. We were planning on driving down to Cedar City early so I could pick up my cap and gown and get oriented to the campus (since I did an extension program, I have never even been pn campus before). My sister Kiersten decided to ride the bus down from BYU-I and join us. She couldn't get here until 3:30ish and Mike ended up having to work today, so that that changed our plans a little bit. The SUU alumni office closed at 4 and there was no way we were going to make it before then. My friend Becca so kindly helped me by picking up my cap and gown. Mom and I were shopping all morning when Kiersten called to find out how to print her bus ticket. We looked at the clock and exclaimed, "Your bus left at 9:30!" It was 9:55 - she totally missed it. Somehow, being the person she is, she found a ride down to Salt Lake with her professor! Kind of weird, I know, but it got her here. The only problem was that they wouldn't arrive in Salt Lake until 4:30 and we still had an hour drive back home. That put us so late arriving in Cedar City! We got on the road for our two and a half hour drive
and arrived at about 10. So much for getting acquainted with the campus. It was just in time to go to bed for early graduation the next morning.
