This dance competition was held at Spanish Fork High School, and I started out judging the solos in the gym. It is seriously hard work! You have to take notes during the entire two and a half minute dance, then you spend the next dance trying to fill out the scores. It might not sound like a lot, but it is crazy! At first, I was really behind on my sheets. I couldn't seem to catch up. I hated it and vowed never to do it again. But once I got the hang of it and was on time with the dances, I actually enjoyed it. I just couldn't spend an entire day doing it. There wasn't even one minute to take a drink out of my water bottle.
Even though I got reprimanded for waving to Kerri Jex ("we are supposed to show complete neutrality"), I was excited to go back again the next day. They even said I was one of the best rookie judges they ever had, so I guess I must have done something right!
