Day 130: Saturday, March 21 - The Continuing Adventures of Laura Busch

"I think I have to go to the emergency room." Those are the words I woke up to at 7:30 this morning. Laura woke up without her vision and the feeling of knives stabbing into her eyes. Instead of taking her to the emergency room, we decided to wait until my eye doctor opened at 8 and get him to squeeze her in between appointments. Here is the diagnosis: driving all day yesterday dried out her eyes. When she took out her contacts, it took off the top layer of cells. Each time she blinks, it continues to aggravate her eyes causing some serious pain and light sensitivity. He gave her some special eye drops and said to stay inside until the next check-up on Monday afternoon. Laura's eyes should continue to get better each day until they are back to normal. What a fun vacation this will be!
