Day 29 - 15 Days 'Til Christmas - White Elephant Parties: To Love or To Hate?

As a rule, I generally dislike white elephant parties. People find the crappiest thing in their house to get rid of (like me), and just get one in return. We do one every year at school. It is always pretty much the same, but Park View seems to do it differently. They generally put some thought and effort into their gifts (unlike me). Maybe if I was more creative, or cared more, I would do the same. Today was our annual white elephant gift exchange. We were holding it at our faculty meeting at 8 am this morning. I completely forgot. My cell phone went off to remind me at 7:45, but I was still in my bathrobe with wet hair. No way I was making it on time. Now mind you, we don't have to be there until 8:30, so I was on time for a normal day. I grabbed the first thing I could find, stuffed it in a bag, and made it there only 10 minutes late. Not too shabby in my opinion. We didn't open presents until the end, so I made it for the "fun" part. Really, ours are pretty clever. Here is my present. Can you guess what it is? It took me a minute, and still Leslie was the one to figure it out.

It is a fourteen carrot gold necklace. Get it?! A fourteen karat gold necklace. (Had to explain in case you didn't get it.) Haha. Pretty clever I must say. I don't know who gave it to me. Someone needs to fess up and claim their gift.

The pups liked it, too!

Wow! That is very creative.

I tend to be more of the "what do I have lying around" type white elephant person, too.
