Les Mis

Thursday and Friday I went down to St. George with the Ewell's. We went to see Les Mis at the Tuacahn outdoor theater. (Yes, outdoor theater in the desert - fairly warm.) Of course, they double sold my seat. I got to spend the play sitting by myself in the house seats. Fortunately, it was only 1 row behind my original seat. On one side of me was a girl with one of those spray bottle fans - the water sprayed me on only one side during the first half of the show. On the other side, about ten empty seats. After intermission I decided to move over so I could have empty seats on either side of me. However, as I was looking over the program, another person sat down next to me. I looked up in surprise to see a guy around my age sitting in the seat directly next to me. Now, had he just sat farther down the row, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. But no, he sat down right next to me and then proceeded to introduce himself! Yes, his name was Nick. A little connection right from the start. The family behind me piped up, "We thought you looked so lonely by yourself we thought we would get you a date." I was so surprised I was speechless. (A rarity for me!) They thought I was embarrassed - I just thought it was weird. I am married after all. The rest of the play was enjoyable, but spent trying not to get into his personal space and keep my bubble intact.

The Ewell's must be pretty awful to make you sit by yourself!
