Sick Day

Okay, so there are definitely moments I wish we had never gotten the pugs. Let me give you a little background info. Zoe was Mike's idea. Exactly 1 week after we bought our house, he brought me to the pet store and got the ladies there to help hoodwink me into buying a puppy. Now, I never had a pet growing up. We were all allergic. (Well, I did have some fish. Rebecca decided to jump out of her bowl and die under the rocking chair. Needless to say, the crunching sound when I sat down will haunt me forever.) The only animal I am not allergic to is a dog. I guess on that day I couldn't say no to the large, brown, puppy dog eyes (coming from man's best friend AND man himself). I have to admit Zane was my idea. Zoe was such an energetic dog that I knew we needed another one to calm her down. Happy 24th birthday to me! Okay, so back to my story. I got super sick yesterday (Friday). I thought I was just hungry, so I ate some instant oatmeal while putting my hair into curlers for dress up as your favorite book character day. Needless to say, I didn't make it to work that day. It was hard enough to try and find a sub, write sub plans, take out curlers, and puke all at the same time, so I got the dogs some food and let them hang out in the kitchen. When I was finally able to step out of bed around six o'clock that night, I discovered the joys of having dogs. Zane (who is always the culprit in these things) had destroyed this stuffed duck that made duck noises. The room was literally a pile of fluff. I am sure those of you who have children would discover the same thing had you let them roam free. I just turned around and left the mess to Mike. Thanks babe! Yes, this is the highlight of my life right now. Easter consisted of a nice dinner with Mike's friend Todd. No egg hunting to speak of - we don't have children or family in the area. So yeah, until later.
